Convert PNG to JPG
Create a widely compatible JPG at the original image dimensions. Real transparent areas are placed on a solid white background.

Transparent areas become white in the preview and downloaded JPG.
Your images are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.
How it works
Choose a PNG file from your device.
Select Convert Image. ImgZelo draws the PNG at its original dimensions and encodes a genuine JPEG file.
Check the final JPG preview, then download it to your device.
Why use this tool
JPG is widely accepted by websites, forms, publishing tools, and older software. Converting can make a photographic PNG smaller and easier to share. The conversion is performed locally in your browser, so the PNG is not uploaded to ImgZelo servers.
PNG and JPG are built for different images
PNG uses lossless compression and can preserve transparent pixels. It is a strong choice for logos, interface graphics, diagrams, screenshots with crisp text, and artwork that may need further editing. Those strengths can also make a photographic PNG much larger than necessary.
JPG uses lossy compression and does not support transparency. It is usually more efficient for photographs and images with continuous tones, shadows, and natural texture. Converting a photo from PNG to JPG can reduce its file size, but re-encoding can introduce small changes around sharp edges and fine details.
Transparent pixels become white
A JPEG file cannot store an alpha channel. Before exporting, ImgZelo creates a canvas at the PNG's original width and height, fills the full canvas with solid white, and then draws the PNG on top. Fully or partly transparent areas therefore appear against white in both the result preview and downloaded JPG.
A gray-and-white checkerboard is not always transparency. Some downloaded images contain that pattern as ordinary visible pixels. In that case the pattern remains because there are no transparent pixels to replace. Check the original in an editor that can identify a real alpha channel if you are unsure.
Use JPG for compatibility and photos
JPG is often suitable for photographs, product images on a solid background, email attachments, form uploads, and services that reject PNG. It can also help when a large photographic PNG needs a more practical delivery size. The converter preserves the original pixel dimensions and aspect ratio.
Keep PNG when transparency matters, when the image contains crisp text or flat-color artwork, or when you expect repeated editing and saving. If you need transparency with a potentially smaller web file, PNG to WebP may be a better option. Always retain the original PNG as the master copy.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting PNG to JPG remove transparency?
Yes. JPG cannot store transparency, so genuine transparent and partly transparent pixels are composited onto solid white.
Will the image dimensions change?
No. The JPG keeps the PNG's original width, height, and aspect ratio.
Why can I still see a checkerboard?
The checkerboard may be drawn into the PNG as normal gray and white pixels rather than representing real transparency.
Is JPG always smaller than PNG?
No, but JPG is often much smaller for photographs. Simple graphics can behave differently depending on their content and dimensions.
Is my PNG uploaded during conversion?
No. Images are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to ImgZelo servers.
